Colour alchemy for the home and the stage
Decorative Painters based in Paris, France and Belfast, Ireland. Damien McDonagh & Khédidja Messadi are two exceptional artists who specialise in a wide range of decorative techniques for interiors, hotels, restaurants, theatre, cinema or theme park projects. They were both educated in Fine Arts. Damien McDonagh at the Belfast College of Art, and Khédidja Messadi at the Écoles des Arts Décoratifs de Nice, Villa Arson, specialising in Scenography and Costume Design for the theatre and cinema, as well as time studying at the IPEDEC - Institut Supérieur de Peinture Décorative de Paris. They met a long time ago while Disneyland Paris was in construction, then 10 years ago after reuniting for a hotel project in Cahersiveen, Co Kerry, they decided to combine their talents as one service.
We have the skills to inspire your projects
What we provide is expert decorative skills, the ability to design & create murals, trompe-l'oeils, marbling, wood-graining, or decorative patinas for unique wall finishes. We both have over 25 years experience in this field, working European-wide, travelling to find projects that can give expression to our creativity. We have worked on the sets at Disneyland Paris, Warner Bros Movieworld & Legoland in Germany. The last major project took Damien to work on the new Dubai theme parks Motiongate & Bollywood. Khédidja’s background includes participation in prestigious renovations on historical buildings in Paris. She worked on the design and production of murals (oil on canvas) in trompe-l'oeil for the pool area and salons of the Hotel Ritz; marbling, wood graining and painted ornamentation for the Restaurant Ledoyen on the Champs-Élysées, the Hotel Meurice, as well as the decoration of the Salons Denon & Mollien of the Louvre.
